Maple Leaf designed an inner barrel where the end is wider compared to the rest of the barrel. At the barrel's end, air passes the BB and exits first; when the BB exits the barrel, the air stream pulls the BB in what is called a jet stream. This reduces resistance on the BB and does NOT decrease velocity, but increases
